Taking one yoga class per week or doing a couple of pre-workout poses can increase endurance, build strength and prevent injuries. Men often suffer from tightness particularly in the hips, hamstrings and shoulders which can lead to injury or weakness. Yoga is a full-body workout that brings balance back to the body creating both strength and flexibility. Having one without the other is a recipe for disaster. This program is designed specifically to address the problem areas mentioned above.
Prior experience is not necessary. Members and non-members are welcome.
When: Fridays, 6:00-6:45 pm for 5 weeks. (Next session starts May 11)

Intro. to Tai Chi & Chi Kung New Classes Start in May!
Tai Chi (Taiji) is a sequence of postures connected by flowing movement, practiced with focused breathing and a calm mind - a type of moving meditation. The slow, smooth movements gently stimulate the internal organs and joints, and improve energy circulation. Taiji is a gentle, low-impact exercise suitable for adults of any age and varying physical ability.
Chi Kung (Qigong) literally means "breath work" and is a distillation of several ancient healing systems. It is based on the cultivation and balance of "Qi", which roughly translates to "bioenergy". Anyone can learn Chi Kung as it helps to increase energy and stamina through the oxygenation of cells within the body. It can reduce stress, improve bowel function, relieve symptoms of insomnia and can be used to manage pain.
Practicing Tai Chi & Chi Kung can reduce stress, increase energy, balance, and flexibility, and ease symptoms of many health problems such as high blood pressure, asthma, back pain, and arthritis.
